Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and was a pianist. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the another soundtrack on which she sang. She was appointed as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence during the four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
